Welcome to the website of Lawrie Richardson - Multi Award Winning Cornish Photographer
Sorry to report but due to recent life events and changes, if you wish to read my blog, you will need to register for an account, its FREE.
Cornwall is and always will be my home
I am a multi-award winning Cornish Photographer, from Penzance in West Cornwall, now located and working in Mid Devon. Thankfully I am no longer based in Plymouth, soon I will be based in Cornwall again. 'Proper Job'.
All my photos are available to buy directly from this website
All the images seen on this website are my own, you are welcome to use any for whatever reason you like, simply check out the portfolio, click on the image you'd like to see how to buy including licencing details, all my work is available in both physical and digital formats. Most of the time all you need to do is just ask if you can use my images, please don't just take them as I would prefer to issue you with the full resolution file as the ones I upload here and on social media are all lower resolution as these load faster, especially handy if the viewer has a slow internet connection. My full size images are at least 3000px on the wide side. (Basically id rather let you use my photos in full resolution rather than using a much lower resolution files and making my work look overall rubbish and low quality).
In the early days I was learning to paint with Jeremy Legrice in Newlyn, and then soon after my passion for photography was born, starting with a Nikon D50 and a basic kit lens, then a tele-photo zoom, this was back in the day, long before Facebook, Reddit, Drones (personal ones anyway), smartphones with 100mp cameras and so fourth, certainly no live-view. Anyway thats the past now.
Thanks to Alan Quick from the Crediton Courier for publishing my work, I have only been living here a month or so and today's paper is my second published photo.
Some of my best photos have been taken using just my smartphone
Whilst I dont think smartphones will ever be more advanced than a conventional camera, especially when it comes down to sensor sizes, I admit some of my best photos have been taken on nothing more than the phone in my pocket.
Even news agencies have published video and photo I have supplied directly from my iPhone / Android directly to them without any editing too.
