Plymouth Civic Centre – Long Time Abandoned
The horrible city sky scraper that towers over the shopping streets below, opened its doors in 1962 and was the base for Plymouth City Council until it was sold for redevelopment in 2015.
Now this city skyscraper sits abandoned with the exception of the PARC officers and some security staff that are often seen entering the basement of the Civic Centre at the small entrance located inside the adjoining public car park.

I was once told many years back that another reason for the Civic Centre to be still standing was because of lost plans of fallen WW2 ordnance from the Blitz being still buried underneath the building, the former police office who informed me of the unexploded WW2 ordnance underneath said there were at least two bombs underneath that had failed to detonate during the WW2 Blitz that killed nearly 1800 Plymouth residents.
