The Elizabethan Gardens

These gardens were shown to me a few years back by a local warship photographer who is sadly no longer with us – Fred Charles Weeks (RIP).

The gardens are found only by chance if you did not know they were there, the street behind the main shopping area of the Plymouth Barbican – New Street is where the entrance is the other extrance / exit can be found on Castle Street.

Oh wait, just a FYI – The camera used here was our trusty little, Sony RX100 MK3.

The Elizabethan Gardens are free to enter and they are never usually busy, its a nice place to go and visit and have some you time, thankfully not many other people know about the gardens. So chances are you will be on your own. Sadly there is no access for disabled persons. There are some very steep steps either side of the gardens so please remember to take extra caution when visiting. No refreshments are at the gardens or any car parking however there is a Weatherspoons on the Barbican and also COOP food store.

Thanks for taking the time to read.
